With a deep track record of investing in high-growth startups, Thomas brings expertise, experience, and an enviable network that will help our portfolio companies expand into the US and scale globally. His appointment is a big step forward in strengthening RTP Global’s cross-Atlantic investment strategy, a key focus as we continue deploying our $1 billion early-stage fund.
Thomas is no stranger to the startup ecosystem. Before joining RTP Global, he spent five years as a General Partner at Alven, where he backed some of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, including cybersecurity platform Stoïk and AI-driven disruptors Attention and Archy.
Thomas is also an active angel investor, and he’s made some impressive bets, including Lovable, a Swedish AI engineering firm that recently raised €14 million in a pre-Series A round. His previous stints at Headline and Global Founders Capital further cemented his expertise in identifying and supporting standout startups across both sides of the Atlantic.
Now, at RTP Global, Thomas will be laser-focused on early-stage fintech, SaaS, and engineering-first companies, helping them navigate the tricky waters of US market expansion. From go-to-market strategy to customer acquisition and hiring remote R&D teams, he’s here to make the transatlantic leap a whole lot easier for our founders.
A Growing Investment Team in Europe
Thomas isn’t the only new Partner in town. Jelmer de Jong, our Chief Technology Officer, is also transitioning into an investment Partner role.
Jelmer brings a technical and data-driven approach to venture investing, with a particular interest in fintech, B2B SaaS, and cybersecurity. Having spent his career deep in the weeds of product, engineering, and data, he knows exactly what it takes to scale a technical company from early-stage to global success.
With Thomas’ cross-border investing expertise and Jelmer’s technical depth, we’re doubling down on our commitment to backing world-class founders in Europe and the US.
