Josiane Ishimwe, Associate
Josie joined RTP Global in 2021 as an Associate in New York; she’s primarily focused on AI/ML, vertical SaaS, and cloud-native enterprise(B2B) investments.
After graduating from Howard University, Josie was as an investment manager at Intel Capital. There she focused on cloud-native infrastructure enterprise applications; most notably Text IQ and Immuta. Before transitioning into the venture capital industry, Josie spent a few summers as a process engineer at ExxonMobil where she conducted specialty hydroprocessing parameter studies and real-time optimization for heat exchangers at major NA and EMEA Refineries.
Outside of work, you can find Josie either hanging out with her pup Bronson, traveling to a new place, hiking, or attempting to cook an unnecessarily complicated recipe.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of the job you do?
Being a true partner to a founder and working hard to get their ideas off the ground is by far the most rewarding aspect of my job as an investor. I’m thrilled to know that this is also one of RTP’s core values.
What qualities do you most admire in other people?
The quote “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together” has been my mantra for many years and the qualities that depict this the most accurately are empathy, integrity, and perseverance.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
Traveling and hanging out with my dog, Bronson. Although recently it’s been harder to experience the former. A bucket list item of mine is to visit every continent by age 30. Currently, I’m up to 4 out of 7, and Oceania is likely my next stop.
